Teachers also lepak: Kurup

Keningau: Natural Resources and Environment Deputy Minister Tan Sri Joseph Kurup is disappointed there were still complaints about government staff, including teachers, being absent from their workplace.

He said this would create a big problem especially for those who came from distant villages.

"I have received complaints from the public who went to government offices to seek for help but were told the boss was not in.

"I urge those who encounter such matters to come and report to me," he said, adding there were parents who were also upset that the teachers are not around when they sent their children to school.

Meanwhile, Kurup lamented that nothing has been done about the rampant illegal lottery activities, and the sale of contraband cigarettes and beverages here.
